We use products very sparingly on Caspar and Otis. Typically we use Cetaphil to wash and thanks to Carly after the post about shampoo we have been using Mop Gentle Pear Shampoo in their hair. Actually we rarely use shampoo on Otis, a little wipe with water and a wash cloth and his hair is done.
I have on many occasions purchased speciality and boutique products but have never found anything worth sticking with or that is affordable.
Recently I was asked if I was interested in reviewing Aveeno Baby products. Curiosity got the better of me. In return for this review I have been supplied with one of each of the following products.
Aveeno Baby Wash & Shampoo
Very, very lightly scented. It says gentle cleansing for hair and body. I only tried it in Caspar's hair and I wouldn't use it as a hair wash again. It left his hair feeling dry and straggly. It is however good as a body wash. Until now Otis has not experienced a bubble bath. A few drops in the bath under warm running water and sure enough Otis is loving the bubbles. This has been the most used product. RRP $10.99
Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Creamy Wash
This really is fragrance free. It's thick and creamy. I decided to use on myself and it feels lovely. I'm not going to share it with the boys, after all it says it soothes dry skin and I have the driest skin out of all of us. Because it is thick you only need a small amount. I've used it everyday for a week and I'd suggest one bottle would last me personally around six weeks. This feels luxurious and better than many adult washes I've used especially considering it's fragrance free. Call me selfish but I would purchase this for my own use. RRP $10.99
Aveeno Baby Daily Lotion
I don't believe that babies need a daily lotion, at least mine don't. This is light and fragrance free. It feels nice. My children generally don't have dry skin but this works well with Otis as a substitute for a massage. When he won't stay still for a massage a quick moisturise is nice and it makes his skin feel soft. Not a necessity in our house and one tube would last us months. This has a light consistency and a little goes a long way. RRP $10.99
Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Moisture Cream
This was the standout product. Otis is madly crawling everywhere and it doesn't matter over what surface. He knees were scuffed and scraped. One, one application of this was all it needed (applied after a bath) to bring his knees back to perfect, soft and smooth. After using it on Otis I noticed how nice it felt on my hands. I continued to use it daily sometimes twice a day and it has turned my hands around. As a mum who is constantly washing her hands this was very fast acting and the best hand cream I've tried in a long time and the most affordable. This is also nice and thick so I've used it sparingly and I know it will last. RRP $10.99
Overall I was pleasantly surprised. I was surprised at the quality and with the exception of the wash and shampoo could be used so sparingly. Again with the exception of the wash and shampoo I loved how the products were fragrance free. Although I didn't pay for these products I love the affordability. The Soothing Relief Creamy Wash and Soothing Relief Moisture Cream are so thick and creamy they feel like a luxury. I'm now tempeted to try their women's range.
